    Superstition Range

    This image is of the actual superstition range the farthest to the right is called battleship point name after the USS Arizona sunk at Pearl Harbor. The shot is taken at about 45 minutes before sunset right after a storm had passed 1/2 hour before. (Digital, ISO 100, f8.0, s1/30).

    Please comment. Thanks

    Very majestic. Excelent natural lighting. So at 1/30 sec you use a tri-pod?

    Jim,

    Thanks for the comments. Yes, I used a tripod. A storm had passd by literally 15 minutes before the shot and everything was wet. The desert colors tend to get a little richer when they are wet. No filters were used. I also took some shots with my RB67 medium format using Velvia 100 slide film. I want to see the difference between the film and the digital. I'll try and post an image after I get the film developed.

    I dunno if my eyes are playing me tricks (its getting late) but your photograph seems a little soft. That being said, I like your composition and the light is just glorious. I think that you captured that scene at the very right time.

    Your right. I haven't done any sharpening yet. Here is one that has been sharpened.

    All that is gold does not glitter,
    Not all those who wander are lost;
    The old that is strong does not wither,
    Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
    From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
    A light from the shadows shall spring;
    Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
    The crownless again shall be king.

    this is a beautiful shot.

    makes me wish i was back in Utah. :-(

    good job getting there when the lighting and storm were just right. i learned to late that i should have been heading out DURING the storms to get good shots, not after they had stopped.
