    Sunset Wood

What do you think of this one? I actually did touch this up in my start-up edition of PS, although it sucks, it's all I have to work with.

I kind of like it. I am interested by the way the lighting is diffused through the scene. That being said, it is so simplistic that I feel it would needs greater sharpness and more texture to really stand out.

I find this intriguing - and enjoyed it much. The color tones change with such a gentle gradient yet the ends are so starkly contrasting. The cord in the middle to add some reality though we are still left with the mystery of what it is attached to - leaving the overall image in the sphere of an abstract.

I like the idea here. I agree the image should be a bit sharper to allow us to really admire the texture. I think also have a light so the there is a soft shadow of the pull chain against the wood will bring dimension to a flat image. Good, and worth another go.

I do like it - has potential. My first comment was "ooh" - in a good way It's the color gradation that caught my eye.

I, however, have an opposite reaction to other comments. Instead of making it sharper, I would make it less focused. The overall effect would be to highlight the change in color, while omitting other distracting details. This photo could be part of a series exploring changes in color with lighting, etc focusing on large swatches of color. Does that make sense?

thanks for the comments guys! I will try both and see what happens, but I do like your suggestion, Stew, about making a series of gradual changes. I will experiment.
