    Sunset at the Marina

It took me forever to find an angle I liked, I think this ended up decent...

I like the overall composition and the colors are great. The big dark corner of land in the lower right I find a bit distracting. The rough edge of the earth as it enters the water helps keep some interest there. Did you use the Tokina 11-16 on this one?

Thanks. Yea that dark area are rocks leading down to the water. This is the Tokina but I used it all the way "zoomed" in at 16mm basically for that very reason to get as few of those rocks as possible. I even cropped some out from the bottom. I could have turned left as well more but then I would have lost some of those colors in the sky. Tough call.

That Tokina hasn't left my camera too much lately. Loving it. I usually use it more between 11-14mm though

I've been thinking about getting a wider piece of glass, and am strongly considering this lens. Looks like it is doing a nice job for you.

Oh it is awesome, I love it. I tried to write a review for it here but got some weird SQL errors with the page loading//.

Check out my Flickr page if you want...11 of the first 14 pics in my photostream were taken with this lens and a Rebel Xsi. The exception being the 2 Bay Bridge pics and the SF Ferry Building picture.

I highly recommend it if you are looking at possibly getting it...

I bought the Tokina about 3 weeks ago and i didnt shoot with anything else in the mean time. I just love it.

Great colors in the photo and i dont think that dark patch in the corner is that bothersome, it indeed leads me to the water. Nice shot!

Not bad Josh. Pretty sunset. I wish there was a stronger silhouette in the foreground, but I think what was more important was capturing the moment before you lost it. Good job
