    Sunset, Lake, HDR

Not sure I like this one. Too dark?

+1 for this comment. A very nice HDR Yuck  I don't think it's too dark at all. It's a sunset shot so ti should be a little darker but, all the detail is still there. Well done

very nice. not experienced enough to offer quality critique, i agree that as it is sunset or sunrise, it should have a darker quality to it.

could be little lighter i suppose depending upon if you were making the trees a bit more of a feature. as i was drawn to the clouds and sun, the trees were ancillary to me and looked fine.

i am guessing that someone will suggest a boat in the foreground though.

i think that we should all have an suv with bits like, a kayak, mountain bike and a "mannequin "
to give the landscape some human quality.

It looks good, but a bit too dark. It's the right amount of hdr.

A bit too dark. I would also saturate the colours a bit more, looks like a video game as it stands.

the sky is nice, but I would like to see more detail on the left part (trees, etc - yeah, a little dark)

MY - Not sure it's too dark, but there is a degree of lost detail. I don't know if that's from the HDR or not. It could be that the sky made it impossible to get everything within acceptable tonal range. I still think it works, though. It is missing something in the foreground - too bad there's not a better reflection in that pond.

    Re: Sunset, Lake, HDR

don't dislike the edit but now my gaze (FWIW) is drawn to the foreground when i think i should focus on the background.

as i mentioned earlier i suppose on what you wish to focus. i like the original better but that's just my take on it.

I drive a stationwagon...does that count? I already have the mountain bike...still working on the kayak part...

    HHLHM:
I like the edit, brings out good detail, though not sure about the crop.

    Those saying too dark:
yes, I had this feeling, but thought something about the darkness was appealing (I actually burned a bit in a lot of spots) I might reprocess this and see what I can come up with.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Mr. Yuck, that is a great shot. Love the reflection in the foreground. Very well balanced, too. However, I believe the edit gives it some "pop" that the original lacks. This would look beautiful in a nice wooden frame.
