    Sunset Cliffs

Got off work a little late for a Friday and figured I would spend the sunset down at the water.

Here's a few pix - not award winners I don't think. Any suggestions, comments or ideas? Note that several were sharpened up a bit.

Great compositions but the colors aren't strong enough. Maybe go B&W?
    No, I DON'T need that.

I think #2 is the winner. From your post it seems you are close to this site so I suggest you visit it again. The problem with all of these is that the sky is blown out. You might want to take a bracketed three shot burst, or even HDR it (the D200 set on the max possible framerate should allow for this with little ghosting). Composition is excellent though.

Yes it's funny how the sky come out so blown. Several of these were shot at f 22 to try to get a soft effect on the water but what that did was white out the sky - strange to me, as I would think that it would simply set the correct exposure regardless of the f stop value.

MB, yeah I agree that the colors weren't spectacular last night. Sunsets are hit or miss. I actually prefer scattered clouds -- that makes for some interesting skies!

Fx I will learn up on that HDR technique. Yeah I think that # 2 would be perfect for a model posing area..........

Nice work GB. I agree the saturation could be posted some, but the composition in them all is very good.
