    Sunrise seat

Took this a couple of weeks ago, went out on the local bike trail before dawn to try to make something. Passed by this bench and went on. As I saw the sun rise the idea struck me to shoot from behind the bench that I had just passed, hi tailed it back so not to lose the light, got real lucky. I am pleased with the results, but would like any feedback.
    Thanks

As is, I think the cutting off of the bench on the left is not very good.

If it could be re-shot, then I would think about trying another perspective...shoot it through the back of the bench from a low angle...errr...just a suggestion

I agree that the slightly cut off left edge of the bench is an issue. My problem is that it isn't fully cut off nor entirely there. I'd crop from the left to just past the water fountain to make the image contain only the bench grids and the great sky.

I'm also thinking that just a touch of fill flash to illuminate the benched might have been worth a try.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Great sky and good idea but I agree the cut off bench is hurting this. However, even if you included it all or eliminated it altogether and just tried to have the chair in the scene ( my preference here) the horizon in the distance seems to line up with the bottom of the chair taking away from it's full silhouette effect. Looks like from your point of view this would have been tough to pull off effectively. Trying lots of shots from different perspectives and compositions is what you have to do, then sort out what worked best later. Are there any others from this scene?

Yeah Gary, I see what you guys are talking about, to tell you the truth, I didn’t even notice the end of the bench. I went back to my files to see how I had cropped it. I did crop off some ground clutter on the right, but to the left, it is just as shot. Also I was using the bottom of the bench to hide more ground clutter. The colors of the sky aren’t typical; it will be difficult to get another shot at this. If I ever do, I will try to look a little more carefully at the framing. I do appreciate the comments. Also I would never have thought of fill flash. You guys are going to really make me thing about what I am doing, and what I really want my final photo to look like. Again thanks.

Left crop + fill flash = awesome pic.
