Sunrise over a lake

While out for a walk one morning, I took some pictures of the sun rising over the lake in our neighborhood. I took a couple at different shutter speeds, and I'd like critiques as well as a vote on which one looks best. I like the first one, as feel the second is a tad over exposed. Thanks for helping out. I'm still new to this.

#1 definitely grabs me more. It just seems more dramatic and better presented when the houses are completely dark. Nice shots.
