Exclamation sunrise over the dead sea

I went out for a photoshoot at 5:30 am drove out (don't have a license yet so my brother drove me out) to a small place on a dead sea beach. susrise at 6:03 and I left my iso from the night before at 2500! so my pictures were basically ruined for blowups but i put a lot a lot of noise reduction so it almost noise free now!

That is an interesting look you got there.

I'd crop out about half of the foreground or half of the sky to get (what I think would be) a much more interesting composition. As it is the sky and foreground are too balanced and don't give the viewer a clue where to look.

BTW on a scale of one to ten this image is fine.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Interesting colour! I'm not complaining about it - just that it looks very apocalyptic somehow. Is that at the north end of the dead sea where it is pretty dried up? (I've been there a couple of times)

Great color. I agree with MB1 that this shot could use some cropping. For me, the texture in the foreground keeps drawing my attention away from the Dead Sea and the sunset so I'd crop about 2/3 of it out. Also, the sea seems a little cramped on the sides. Do you have any shots pulled back just a bit more?

I think this shot is rather lovely with an eerie mood. Technically it may need a crop I dont feel, referring to my colleague MB's words, that I need any clues as to where to look. I just look everywhere on this and I like what I see and feel.

Re: sunrise over the dead sea

I agree with the others. I think this image needs a crop. I disagree as to where the crop should be. I really like the texture in the foreground. To me, that is strongest point in the image. I also like the color that is reflected in the water. For me, the empty sky is what draws my attention away from the other, more interesting, areas of the photo. If this was my image, I would leave the foreground as is, and crop out a lot of the sky. I would leave a little bit of room above the sun and get rid of the rest.

The texture in the FG grabs my attention, and leads me to the reflections in the water and then towards the sun. Once I get past the sun, I find the empty sky to be a bit of a let down.

I second the idea of cropping the sky. Great shot, I like the eerie mood and the color.
