    Sunrise in Florida

I rarely see sunrises...but because we drove from Florida back to VA...we had the opportunity to see one.

    Emily,

Not sure whether you have to much black foreground or not. If you crop it then it gives the picture an odd dimensions. I think it would have been better landscape

I like the colours and the lines silhoutte against the sky.

I think eliminating half of the foreground would do this shot a lot of good. There's just too much black at the bottom at the moment.

I think it's a good shot and very abstractly with the lines slicing through it like that and the position of the sun is fine.

Like an empty musical score waiting for the day's opening notes. Beautiful. I agree about cropping it (square?) to remove much of the weighty foreground and move the sun off center at least vertically.

Emily - Interesting shot here... I think it portrays 'Energy' or something like that. I think it might have been even more powerful if the lines were instead a power plant. Or a nuke plant! Then you could name it E=mc squared.

I agree that there is probably too much foreground here that doesn't add to the photograph.. Also, as Chunk suggested, off centering the sun might also add an artistic feel.

Roger, Leels, Chunk & GB...thanks to all of you for your thoughts on this! I see what you're saying about the dark areas, and agree. I appreciate all of your comments...
