    Re: sunflower and barn

I like the intense, saturated color. I think I would crop off some of the left to move the sunflower off center. The extreme depth of field is very nice in this shot. Another thing making it successfull is the interplay of complimentary colors.

    Re: sunflower and barn

Thank you for posting Chunk. I was concentrating so much on other things, I did not even notice that the flower was centered. Now that I look at it, Im not sure how to crop it. Akward comp.Heres an attempt. If you have time, please show me what you think.
    Thanks again,
    Mark.

I applaud you for your getting in for an unusual point of view and comp. You created a very interesting and appealing scene. I think your crop is perfect, thats the keeper. I only keep thinking that i would like to have seen the sunflower moved away a bit from the barn so that the whole barns front peak is outlined in the sky, but, I feel it works well as it stands. Good Work, Mark

This is a good shot, the cropped version is better to me.
I like the color, you have red, green, yellow and blue, all saturated well.

That's about what I was thinking. I think it is stronger now. Quite the shot.

Gary, I agree with you about showing the peak of the barn. The words "Good Work" coming from you mean a lot to me. Thank you.
Chris B, I'm glad that you like this and took the time to tell me why. I was only aware of the red and yellow when I took this, the green and blue are a bonous. Thanks for your reply.
Chunk, The crop is a huge improvement! Thanks for the help and shareing your thoughts.

Thanks again to all of you for posting,
    Mark.

    Re: sunflower and barn

This is a very nice image. I love the composition and the crop makes it even better. I too like the colors. I think the barn is perfect where it is - along with the angle, just makes the image. The big green leaves, the yellow sunflower or the red barn wouldn't look like much alone, but the way you put this together makes it unique and a hanger for sure.

    Great job.

The colors in this shot are just fabulous. Very beautiful. I totally agree that the cropped photo is better than the original, and the angle really makes this picture so interesting. Straight on would be a nice shot, but the way you have it makes it truly unique.
