    Re: Summer Turns to Autumn

The colors aren't really autumn yet.

I prefer the first image as the second is too balanced and static.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Thanks for the comment.

The idea of the first photo was to show the change in color from deep green to the more lime green as a progression into Autumn, guess it didn't work :-P. Yea, I have a problem with symmetry - causing the second image to be uniform.

    Re: Summer Turns to Autumn

I think your first shot is excelent. It shows the transformation of color from deep green of summer into the color of autumn. The framing of this leaf is very good as well. This is a sort of study of the transition as well as taking on an artistic approach to it.
I think a slight boost in contrast could get the colors and texture to pop a bit more, but other than that I really like it.
The second one is too static and balanced as mentioned already.
    Good work

I like them both, but I also have symmetry issues apparently (check out my post "Autumn Smiles" - It got critiqued for 'too centered' also.... but sometimes I just like that! LOL

Not quite Autumn but nice shots, I agree that the first one is the better one

    Re: Summer Turns to Autumn

Thanks for the comments, I will try the boost in contrast to see what it does for the image.

After looking at the second again, it is rather boring. That's too bad since that particular leaf caught my eye from afar, now it is dry and withered ... should have tried multiple shots with it, but I was at a loss for creative "studio" (term used loosely) ideas.

Will take a look Chow, hurray for the anal retentive!

Edit: Good call Gahspidy... upped the contrast and brightness (maybe too much?).

I deleted the original from flickr before I realized I could not edit my first post, so I would appreciate it if you would move the photo there gahspidy.
