    Summer Paradise

Here's a snapshot I took in upstate New York a couple months ago. It's a little bright for my liking but sunset was not an option unfortunately. The good side is that it brings out details in the buildings that would've been dark.

I did do some retouching on this one, including the removal of a few people from one of the walkways, removal of a sprinkler, and removing some plant debris from one of the paths. Other than that just some contrast and a very slight saturation increase.

    Hi PJ,
The shot gives an idea about the layout of the garden. The planting of the flowers and trees is well planned. The residents in the nearby buildings must benefit a lot from the park. The oblique lines give a sense of dynamism to the shot. I wish to see one or two persons in the shot to show their enjoyment of the park. The shot seems a bit tilt to the left though it is only trivial. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks YoYo.

The park and the structures are actually all part of the resort grounds. There's a big lake behind the tall trees to the left as well. Very cool place. I'll post another here in a few minutes. As for the people they were just tourists with their backs to the camera about 2/3 up the frame... would that be an improvement to leave them in do you think or would they have to be closer / see their faces etc? Good call on the tilt. I hadn't noticed that but you are correct.

Here's the view from the other side of the resort (just for fun). This was a quick and dirty snapshot as I was walking on one of the nature trails, so it's blurry and dark in spots but it should give a pretty good idea of the place itself. I'll definitely be going back there one day when I have some time.

    Hi PJ,
Thanks for more information about the park. I guess one or two persons (without chopping) would enhance the idea of "Summer paradise". Yes, if their faces are towards the camera, the interaction with the viewers would be stronger.

PJ, good framing on the picture, and although as you said it is a bit bright, your inclusion of all the fg makes this interesting.I like that the trees frame the buildings and that you have put them at the top of the frame.

Thanks for the comments, Gary... I played with a couple different orientations and zoom levels but the vertical one seemed to best capture what I was seeing. I actually was at the top of this gazebo type structure when I shot it so that helped a little too. Wished I had tried one down at flower level by that planting at lower left but I ran out of CF room!
