I really enjoyed viewing it here...rather then the gallery. I could actually see where you were taking it from Rick. No telling what else was in that tunnel with you..lol. Your reflections are fantastic.

    Re: Sub-terrain reflections

    Rick,

Good to see you posting in the forums! You will get more and varied type of critique here.

Great reflection in that first and last photos. The WB looks a little off in all the images? The tree boles look pinkish or reddish in some of the photos.

The culvert is an interesting idea, and if it had been used to frame one or more of the photos completely its inclusion might have made a stronger statement.

The use of the culvert wall and its reflection in the last photo has some unusual potential. Showing the man/nature conflict or collision is usually strengthened compositional with something other than a 50-50 division. That way nature or man's impact visually intrudes into the other one by consuming more of the image.

Did you try using flash in the culvert, there's some distracting foreground in a few of the photos. . .

As always, looking forward to more whether here or in the gallery.

The composition is the best in #1, It almost looks like a mirror. Have you tried flipping it 180 to see if you can tell a difference?

    Re: Sub-terrain reflections

I really like the reflections and I think your exposures were spot on.

Compositionally (is that a word?) I find teh framing in the first one a bit odd. The 50 - 50 split works well with the reflections but I find that my eyes are looking for more in either direction. I think it would be stronger by placing the waters edge at either third above or below the middle personally.

2 and 4 work the best for me. I like how the culvert wall in #2 doesn't dominate the image but shows teh collision between mans hand and natures will.

The Pano in #4 has me going back to it again and again. Nice job on that one over all. Definitely my favourite of them all.
