    Struggle. . .flowerpower.

Kodak Ultra Color 100. PS editing Compressed like hell. For some reason, some files have trouble uploading on my already slow dial up connection. ( waiting for DSL) This one has been reduced to 42 kb.
Anyway, what do you think of the image?
    Thanks

It looks great. The fact that the background is that bright makes it quite different from your previous shot of the series. It is not as spooky as the other picture at first but it is not that reassuring either. It is so white, a nuclear explosion might have just happened lol.
The effect is surreal but not in the same way as your previous work. The colors of the flowers comes out superbly well.

That is a great addition to the series.

Everything is working well here, shadows, dof, And comp. I wouldn't have thought to face the flower out of the frame, nice touch
    Excelent image,

A lot of good tension in this shot because of your placement of the flower. I don't think it would work without that balancing clump of unassuming vegetation. Is there any detail in the sand directly under the flower head? I think I'd like a bit there - it may just be lost in translation.
Mark's comment about the flower facing out is right on. It is much like a person looking or walking out of the frame and is the source of that tension

Seb . . .thanks for the reply. " not that reassuring either" I like your description. The bright bg was enhanced with my editing and wanted a very harsh looking environment for this pretty specimen.

Mark . . .glad to hear your points on what you find works in the shot. Thanks for your comments

Chunk . . .Yes, tension is what i want here and glad you mentioned it. As for the detail under the flower , I think I would have liked to see a bit more also, but the flower is actually leaning in towrds me as well as towrds the side of the frame and under the flower is really the sand in the foreground and the sand that appears to be under the flower is really closer to the vegetation clump. When i edit my version for print, I will be trying to bring a bit more detail in the area you mention through various methods. thanks for your time as always.
