    Re: Street Portraits

I like the first although I'd like to see more face and less hat.

I don't think the second is much of anything (no face for one thing).

I like the third the most but I wish composition-wise he was a little more off center in the frame.
    No, I DON'T need that.

don, a lot your photos seem extremely grainy and soft. I'm not sure if it's on purpose or due to a specific camera setting/style/etc or due to web optimization. I think that's one major improvement.

    That said, I really like 1 & 3

Thanks guys. They are all grab shots taken quickly on a bus either moving or paused just briefly.

I do like the first shot, especially the composition. The shadow creating a leading line between the child and adult and the sunlight accenting the child, as if to give her more credibility or importance, and the listener played down by the hat and shadows. The symetry of the bags they're holding works well too.

Street photography, I love it but it's not easy to get them. The 3rd shot seems to be overworked the hat seems surreal maybe you added some gaussian blur and the masking wasn't tight enough? Anyway from the bus that's great. Through a window or an open window? S

Don, Your images have a nice urban gritty mood that I like. Here I think the first one works as stated by jetrim. Number two just looks over processed. Number three is a good capture. You seemed to have captured a little of his character and that what makes a good portrait shot. Nice work.
