I don't think there is enough depth of field and the focus seems to be on the leaf at the very top of the image. The center of the image doesn't seem to be in focus and that seems wrong to me-actually only parts of the leaves seem to be in focus everything else is not sharp at all.

    Re: strawberry

its at iso 400 f2.8 1/60.. about as shallow as u can get for dof.. with a smaller aperture and greater depth of field/focus the strawberry would be more in focus but then again so would the iffy background..

i think the trade off is about right but a better optoin would be move the subject further away from the background or pick a different one if its an arranged shot..

yeah.. the focus here, just on the top, is a bit odd...in fact, it looks a bit "cartoonish". I think what I liked was the really bold colours---and yes, the backgound is lacking. The berry is set on top of a small glass dish on my hideous blue countertop (the light coming in from the window was so good, I had to take a picture of something..and the strawberries were right there.. hehehe)....I wanted a "different" looking strawberry, too...not just a picture of a strawberry....

I feel like the others in that the DOF isnt quite deep enough. The color is very very nice here....... both the red and green. The background could be better - try using a thin stick and sticking it into one side of the berry and the other into the ground, that might work to raise it high enough so that the background fades out. I do like the grey color of the background. Overall, an effective expt.

I would back off a little and change the angle to improve depth of field. Try and get the edges a little sharper. The background can be taken out or changed in postprocessing.

The DOF is fine for me. I love marco shots and this one certainly qualifies. But somehow the berry seems upside down to me. How about flipping in 180 and see how it looks. Honestly I have a very difficult time standing on my head. Or maybe even just a 90 degree right.

    Re: strawberry

Ok to start i love strawberries so this is a touchy subject for me ....

In matter of DOF, i think Ronnoco said it best in matters of changing angles...

Other than that, fool around with the strawberries, but keep those colors, they are great!
