    On Station--3 variations

Three variations on the same theme. Which works best?

I think I like the color version best, John. All three are nice though.

I'd go for the first (b&w) one.

I can't say that the colors in the color version are that interesting. Also, you are loosing details in the sky in the toned version. Finally, there is slight flare in the center of the picture (where the sun is hidden) in the color and the toned version which is less obvious in the b&w. Beside, I like to have the boat as a solid black silhouette. Hence, my vote for the first one.

You probably could guess, but I like the b&w best.

Is this another one from "back in the day"? I like it alot.

I like the color one best, but the top B&W is also good, the bottom version is lacking.

Isn't that interesting. This could be a textbook article on mood and color. #1 looks staid and reminescent of WWII. #2 seems a little incongruous -- more like the background for a cruise ship, too happy and tropical. #3 looks like WWI.
