I'd like to see this in a series of photos from bud to bloom to dropings. By itself everything is well done although a little too contrasty/harsh (maybe some fill?) but who wants to see a flower in this shape?.
MB1, thank you for commenting on this. I like working on series, but normally my attention span bounces to something else before I'm half finished.
In answer to your question, who wants to see a flower in this shape: me. I like taking pictures of flowers as they're withering as much as I do of buds, and flowers in full bloom, same thing with leaves. Even the dryest, most shriveled leaf can be interesting and beautiful. I thought this flower was quite striking...perhaps that doesn't convey in the photo.

I find it very interesting. I do see where a series could benefit this picture.
I kind of think that this picture is showing that even though you may be past your prime, you can still be beautiful. Maybe I am looking to far into it but that is what I got from it.
