    Stanley's

One more addition to my series. I waited for someone to pass by and add that extra element but when the couple spotted me they stopped until I was done shooting. We almost had a stand off.LOL Any way the more I look at it the more I think a person would have made the shot to busy. I would love to get this one when it is darker but it's not open late enough. It was heavy overcast and raining and that's about the only time I have been able to get any detail out of the neon sign. Sorry for the novel, but how do you feel about it with no one in the shot and the framing with the gutter on the right and wire on the left?

Unusual framing indeed. I wish the neon sign were brighter but "ya gotta do with what ya got".

I like it Just something about it. I truely like it.

It's a well balanced composition that sets up the little place nicely. It goes well with the series. I know what you mean about the stand off with the passerbys, . . .I have had a few myself.

I think the wire and gutter add to it rather than distracting.
I know you didn't take this on Saturday and I also think it fits in your series quite well.

    Re: Stanley's

Thanks everyone for the suggestions here is a edit. I tried to make it look more like a night shot? What do you think of the edit. Better or should I have left it alone?

I like how the sign came out in the edit but, it doesn't feel like night to me. Just seems dark. How would it look if you took the neon sign of the edit and put it on the original?

    Re: Stanley's

Yeah the edit is too dark but the sign does stand out. i would suggest just burning a dodging the sign in the original, it would be easy to make it pop some more. It is really not all the neccessary anyway, i think

Hi Greg ... I like this, as I like all this series. Personally, I think the wire on the left is too indistinct to add anything - I would be inclined to crop closer to the sign. You could always do a selection around the white and neon and accentuate that while leaving the rest as it was. All these americana shots would make a great exhibition in somewhere like a local library.

    Cheers

I love waiting to see what's next from you. I think these look like they're straight out of a coffee table photo book. I'm going to be in the opposite side of Georgia, coastal southeast, and really looking forward to capturing the beauty of St. Simons and a Savannah.

    Re: Stanley's

Thanks Mike I need to crop it some so I will kill the wire but feel it may be to much of a crop on the right to get rid of the gutter. Thanks to Bindows you will have a lot of great subjects in Savannah, It's a very beautiful and historic city. I can't remember the name of the place but I got a hambuger on the Riverwalk and it was the best one I ever had. Look for it.

This is a great shot. The wire on the left is better OUT -- but that's really a small detail. The shot is excellent with or without the wire. Well done.

Greg - Sorry about coming late to the party, but I just wanted to add my 0.02 that this is another nice addition to your series. I like the edits and the final is much better than the original. Nice work.
