    Hey,

The sun dominates this picture. I'd like to see more of the damaged dock and less glare. Otherwise, compisition appears to be good and you have an interesting sky. I really like the texture of the water, too.

    Welcome

    Hey, capstone, welcome to PR.

Not sure what your setup is as far as gear is, but a polarizing filter is a must for this type of shot. You can really cut down a lot of the glare. I agree with the others on the sky, it is interesting. From the looks of the image, you must have exposed for the sun almost directly. That is fine if that is the effect you want. Otherwise, I would suggest picking a different area to meter from. In this image, the dock would have been good to use. The sun would still have some dominace, but you then would have been able to have more detail out of the dock area. Overall, very nice pic. Hope to see more from you.

Thanks for all the input. This shot was taken with a Canon Point & Shoot Digital. I have a Nikon N65 but after using my wifes digital camera I have become spoiled. I really hope to soon get a Digital SLR...maybe a nikon D70.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I love taking photos but have a lot to learn. Basically just see something I like and click. It drives my wife crazy she doesn't understand why I take so many photos of "stuff" rather than just family photos alone ;)

Hey capstone, if you want to learn, you've come to the right place.
