Squirrel snacktime

Caught this squirrel enjoying a good snack. As a beginning/amateur photographer, I was working on use of converging lines and also experimenting with aperture settings.

Looks like to me it would be better if you had taken a step to your right to photo the squirrel. That branch in the background, though blurred, is too close to the head of the squirrel, IMO. Also, the head of the squirrel should be in the light rather than its hind leg and part of the tree trunk. But, if your ethics allows the use of post-processing, that can be fixed. And the sharpness, the squirrel can use some sharpening in post-processing.

Thanks for the comments, AgingEyes. I had already noticed the squirrel was soft and also had a friend point that out. I need to check my notes and the EXIF data to see what I can do to correct that in the future.

As for the branch that is close to his head, as stupid as it sounds, I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. Funny how you can just miss something that obvious. And maybe if I had just stepped one step to the right, the light would have been different too.

Well-lit image. The subject is a bit cliche and I think you have to sharpen him up a bit so that his face and eyes are sharp, but I do like your image. His head is a bit close to that branch. If he were eating something more unusual it would be more funnier, but nice shot.
