    Spring Sunrise on the Potomac

I was riding into work when I saw these guys on the river. I turned around racing to get ahead of them then shot straight into the suns reflection on the river.

"two yellow"? or "two bright"? What does that mean?
"Too" yellow? or "two" notches too bright?

... But I, too, think it works well!

im saying its really bright and yellow or orange and think darker tones might work better, or maybe a b/w version, and also courious if these are natural colors

I think it works. The almost square format is about the only thing that bothers me a bit. I just can never get used to square photos.

I really like the position of the paddle and the gold tones with all those glittery highlights.

Hey MB - pretty neat shot. I think it might be better though if you adjusted the colors away from orange to either more yellow or more red. Try it.

Composition wise, it seems a little off to me. Or chopped off. Maybe because the reflection is cut off at the top, or perhaps it's that I seem more of a horizontal pic here rather than a vertical one.

    Anyway - good catch

A beautiful photo, I understand what others are saying about the square format and a little bit more in front of the canoe would have been nice.

Lovely colours wouldn't change a thing.

I shot this image with a camera-of course the colors aren't natural.

I had my 5D set on landscape and +2 saturation but the downloaded image was still fairly overexposed from shooting directly into the light so I reduced the brightness and exposure in Aperture and cropped the far riverbank to get the squarish final image.

It ended up looking about like what I visualized when I first saw the folks on the river.

haha, ok. it worked pretty well. i agree with what GB said, it feels a little chopped off. i think if you had the boat man in the bottom 1/3 of the photo, it would be great
