    Spring Blossoms

This afternoons attempt at photographing some of the neighbors flowers. I had to do some cropping because of an undesirable basement window covering, so wound up with these 2.
Pentax *ist DL w/ SMCP DA 18-55mm zoom lens and quite abit of PS trying to correct for some over exposure and lots of wind movement.
    What do you think?

    Re: Spring Blossoms

Very pretty! I'm loving the tulips right now myself...along with all the other spring colors.

I think I would like this with a tighter crop...but I tend to crop really closely in with flowers, so that's likely a personal preference. As is, I do like the vibrance of the tulips against the more muted green and brown of the mulch/soil. It's a beautiful shot.

Ken great job with DOF, on my monitor the tulips look a little muted, but mine is not calibrated. Overall nice job...I might have to go out and do some macro of out tulips.

    Hi Ken,

I like this shot actually. Whatever you did in PP to correct things have given it a little bit of a surreal look to it. I like the placement and the DOF.

My only suggestion (and it may not work) is to up the saturation some to give it a bit more of a surreal punch.

    Nice job.

    Re: Spring Blossoms

    Thanx everyone,
Emily, actually I considered strongly a tighter crop and It does look good that way. I guess I just liked the extra greenery. As you realize, alot of this is personal taste. I appreciate your comments.

ZR...it may not be your monitor since mine is not calibrated either. If I understand what you mean by muted a bit...you may be correct, since like you, I don't have the best setup for viewing these. Thanx...

Tim...actually, there is already a lot of saturation I did with this...in fact, I backed it off quite abit cuz I thought it was too much for the average tastes...but I think I'll post one with the more sat. and see what comments I get. I'm not real sure about pushing the envelope yet, so I really appreciate this type of comment as it gives me incentive to post some of my more "processed" works. hehe Thanx!!!
