Spread Eagle! NOT PORN!! LOL

First off I have to say I shot this with my old Sony A100 because my A700 broke. Thinking about switching to Cannon 7D? I shot this eagle in fort myers Florida with an old Minolta Beer can 70-210 f4, I was sitting by the pool and this guy landed on the building next to me...I was shooting him sitting on the corner of the building and I just happen to be shooting when he took off!! I got lucky!!

I know there is purple fringing and some blurring on the tips...but for an absolute rookie...I think it's a photo like this that will inspire me to improve! I know it has issues but for me its a keeper! What can I do in lightroom to try and improve (Like Dodging the left side?)

Is it a keeper for any others?

You can get rid of the some of the fringing in raw/lightroom/ps. I'd like to see more room at the bottom.

Ishot - you should also check out the A77 or A850, in same price range. Our forum buddy Greg McCary has both.

It is a good shot, but its also a bit cropped and clearly at the end of the telephoto range. As such, it doesn't have as significant a level of detail. The purple fringing is exacerbated by this decreased resolution. The shadow detail is a bit crushed on the chest, the claws and wings are very tightly crammed at the bottom of the composition, and there is no point of reference to offer a contrasting element to bird and sky.

I was hoping for porn but i digress...nice sharp shot. It could use something in the background but it wasn't there. You could clip it and drop it into some nice backdrops for S&G.

I think it's a good shot. Very clear and I like that there is open space in the direction he is flying.
