    Spotted Cucumber Beetle

More macros. I'm going to be sad when I send my rented macro lens back Monday.
Two crops of the same shot. Took about a dozen of him, got one reasonably sharp.

    Does the WB seem off?

Thanks, hope you're not sick of my bugs

Very sharp and the colors are very nice as well.

Also, have you tried close up lense? You can get a very nice set on line very cheap. And the even work on macro lenses should you buy one in the future.

    Thanks Arne.

I had a set of close-up filters when I shot film. They're only 49mm though and aren't going to fit any of my current lenses for my canon. I normally work with my 300mm and extension tubes and get good results, but have never gotten this sort of detail with that set up.

    Re: Spotted Cucumber Beetle

I like #1 very much, it really shows off his face and eye detail. Nice vantage point, crop and great color. To nit pick a bit, I think it would have been a much more dramatic shot if there were a more extensive DOF. Can you step the lens down a few stops and compensate some on the other end with ISO and shutter speed? WB looks ok to me.
And no, not sick of bugs, they are among my favs.
