    Re: Splitting Coca-Cola

I realy like the idea. as far as improvement goes, there are some dents on the coke can. if you were going for a high key sort of shot the background is a bit too grey and muddyish. the bottom of the glasses don't line up, i think the right one was closer to the camera than the left one. There's also a small drop running down the right side of the can. I like your idea here and would like to see maybe different angles, etc. of this. also a high key would make this stand out.

This was just a test shot to see how it would turn out.
I agree that the right glass is out of whack. as far as the drop on the can well lets just say my pocket knife doesn't make round holes perfect and caused the can to miss it's own mouth, if you know what I mean.
What do you mean by High Key?
As far as lighting goes just a 60 watt house light over head nothing fancy.

high key is like when you see the shots that have super white backgrounds, with either models or objects. i just tested google and if you search for high key photography and check the image tab, you'll get some examples. :-)

yeah, it'll be tough making clean holes. good luck!

    I like the idea, icicle.

An ice pick or an awl would probably work well to get a nice round hole.

LeeIs, Thank you, and I going to do a search one High Key.

cm_mtb, The only problem with an ice pick or an awl is they also leave rips around the edges, Needs to be clean, Might have to break out my Dremel to get it right.

Going to wok in to more tonight.
