I really love the colors and your choice of angle but I am uncomfortable with the dof. I would actually expect the very tip of the flower to be in sharp focus.

Have I mentioned your choice of angle? Nice...

nice. good focal range. excellent subject matter, it looks like a pinwheel. however the background reds lack vividry. kick that up. screw what your dad says and get that printed

Thanks. I tried to not go the "cliche" way of taking pictures of flowers. Whenever I see a picture of a flower, it's always focused on the petals or the top of the stem(?) thing. So I tried something new.

I guess it's getting late, I didn't even noticed that at the first place!! The improvement is quite dramatic, a good shot that gets even better.

Truthfully, you are right on. I thought that the dof was a little unsettling at first but the end result is nice to look at.

I agree with trog. Experimenting with the basics does not work.

I'm torn. After the WB correction.....the colors are much nicer. I'll give you credit on the creative angle but I don't like seeing the crop on the on the left. I think the pistil should be whole at least. I would also like to see a bit more in focus.
