Ok, but could probably have been taken at a little more of a creative angle. So much of the flowers are in shade and darkness.. seems a little hard to tell what's going on. It's looking a bit soft on my monitor - intentionally? Some folks like a little softness with flower shots to create a dreamy effect...

Nice detail and color, and those are some interesting flowers. I'm curious to know what kind they are.

ty all for your comments........im new to this..just a casual photo taker all my life.
GB1 can you give a example of a creative angle for a subject like this ?
these flowers were in bright sunshine with the shade in the background from the trees near by.
also when you say the picture looked SOFT, are you refering to sharpness?

ty FREYGR now i know what kind of flowers they are lol

Chris - I think I would have gotten a little lower and taken the shot up into the flowers, rather than from the side. I don't really know how it would have come out, sometimes just have to try it and see. And yes, "soft" here means "not real sharp." Seems like that happens to a lot of flower shots: people are zooming in or using macro lenses, and that usually requires a pretty slow shutter speed. A tripod is often needed in this situation.

I'm not a serious flower shooter, but I have done a few over the years. Here are some that I think worked (and I have shot many many others that didn't )

Personally I like the angle and the use of light. It works for me.
