Some shots I took today of the pool table

I just decided to take my camera to my friend's house and try to get some good shots, becasue he just got a new light installed and I like how the new lighting looks. Anyway, let me know what you think.

That last one I just took for fun.

I think the last one is the best.
The others ae under exposed to the point where I can't see any detail on my monitor.

Yes I was going to say the top 2 are dark but that can be sorted out in PS.

I don't mind the darkness of the first two. It gives me a smokey pool hall feeling. I like the idea behind the last shot, but the back ground takes away from the image for me.

Maybe my monitor is brighter than everyone else's, because there is a lot of detail in the first two, and darkness surrounding the balls. I will take note of what I can do better and try again.

Re: Some shots I took today of the pool table

The last one is certainly the best as it shows some action related to pool. The other two if you are trying to make still lifes of billiard balls need to be arranged diffferently. An extreme closeup with the rest of the balls 'falling off' into the background might work.

The images as they are probably would best be adjusted for levels to bring up the contrast. It is also possible you might wish to play with an 'effect' like solarization or even posterize them to a lower number of total colors.

A pool table can be a lot of fun to shoot on. The bright green and texture of the felt provides a potentially fun background for a variety of subjects. You could work on taking the 'perfect' one ball photo. A single source light, even an overhead, and variations on how the number is oriented could produce all kinds of imagery.

    Look forward to more!

I want to try and get that action shot from above the table, to get rid of the background.
