jetrim, the first one I like and find interesting even though I'm not much on these type of shots. The airplane in the second one really makes the picture for me and I like it also. You were really observant and quick on the shutter to get that second shot, Jeff

    Re: circles and holes

Jet - I like both of these, they have a child age feeling to them, and remind me of elementary school (funny how simple things were then eh?)

I like the top one the best, but maybe the entire range should be sharp? I would also like it better if a new row of lines were not beginning at the top and bottom left, but .. the only way to for them to go away would be to do a non-rectangular crop - or clone them out.

The bottom shot is fun. LOVE those holes at the bottom and the plane in the middle of the top opening is excellent. The only thing that disturbs the geometry is the two trees in the photo, which unfortunately snap it back to reality.

    Re: circles and holes

That first shot would be tricky to get in focus throughout as what you are looking at is a full city block long and those colored circles are approx 6' in diameter they are the vent grills for a 10 story parking garage at the base of the towers (second pic hints at this).

The building is in one of the designated takeoff/landing paths for Miami International, but not the primary so the opportunity to get the shot doesn't present itself often (only when winds are strong from the SE) and I was pretty excited until I realized I wasn't standing exactly in the center - so the geometry is off just a bit.

Here's another wider view, taken from the 5th story of an elevated train platform down the street:

Catching that plane in the circle took patience and perseverence. I applaud you for that.
The other one is good too, but doesn't hold my eye.

I really like the symmetry in the one with the Jet and the jet makes it stand out.

Excellent work. How long did you wait for that picture to happen?

I was looking at this photo today as I was reading the new responses and noticed something very strange. If I use the slide bar at the side of the screen to move the image it just slides up and down the screen but if I move it up and down the screen with the roller in my mouse the rows of holes seem to move up and down. By using my roller in my mouse it seems to make the angle of the holes change positions. How weird is that. It only works with the last photo and doesn't seem to effect the smaller original photo of the holes. I know it is an optical illusion but it's still strange, Jeff

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

yeah, almost like it's rotating on an axis or something.

Hmmm, rubbery! I think the first shot does it too, you just don't notice as much. I chalked it up to the detents in my scroll wheel...
