    Some Florida Palm Trees

Sorry for all the Florida shots, but I'm freezing in Denver and wishing I was there.

Anywho, this one was taken across the lagoon from this picture of the Florida Dock in Melbourne, FL. Also with the Nikon Coolpix 3100.

    Re: Some Florida Palm Trees

Jason - I think that if there was some people on the ocean side of the trees that it would work - seems to be missing something otherwise. The trees on the left also seem cut off (?).

But yeah, CO must be cold.. I think it's "time to get away" and fly to FL with your camera...

    Re: Some Florida Palm Trees

I like the composition you are going for here, and think it was close but not right on. I feel you needed to pan the camera a bit more to the right to see the end of the line of trees fall within the frame and move the front tree closer to the edge of the left side of frame. Also, it feels that the tops of the foreground trees are chopped off to close and panning the camera up a bit, or using a wider angle lens would help include more of the tops. the lighting is great and I like the still, empty water as the bg.

    Re: Some Florida Palm Trees

I personally might of changed this to a portrait style shot (horizontal) and include the whole tree rather than cutting the top one off. An interesting pattern, though not a definate strong subject point. You need something to break the pattern (ie. a tree fallen over, etc.) to make this picture effective.

Nonetheless, I wish I was in Flordia!
