Now that someone else has said it ... I wanted to say the same thing. I understand what it is that you were trying to do though. I often do it myself. I am still learning how to blend the difference's with light as well as sharpening effects. (not that you did any of that) As a beginner myself, I was struck with the Depth Of Field regarding the hair ... I liked that...The Nose, Cheek, Hair, then background.
I'm guessing the lens was not quite perpendicular to the sensor as I was playing with a home made adapter, I used the nikon 85mm lens on the nex5n , the lens not being perpendicular caused the effect of only a narrow band in focus
the eyebrows are damn near razor sharp, eyes not as much I added a bit of contrast on them
sharpening was evenly used on all the image after resizing
exposure looks a bit high for my liking. I'd like to see the texture of her skin more emphasized, looks sort of washed out here. The perspective seems to be facing upwards. The dof seems excessive in its exageration, why is her eyes so much sharper than her lips? The difference I don't think is a problem, but the degree of the difference I think is. A little bit stronger side lighting would have emphasized texture in her skin as well. Plus a more downward facing perspective.
Ok that sounds harsh maybe, I think it certainly is a very good image and definitely a keeper. But I do think it could be improved as well.
