Soft, pink, and out of gamut.

I know flower shots are beyond overdone, and over and over again. Is this original enough? Is it unique enough? I'm torn between the two versions even with the very slight difference, not sure if the pink spots on the left should be there or not.

Also - I've never seen such a huge chunk of color out of gamut. Is there any way to print this without butchering the color completely, converting to CMYK absolutely kills the color in this.

Re: Soft, pink, and out of gamut.

I prefer the second as there is more detail in the white.
I think this might be a very good use of hdr. Exposing 3 to 5 should do it to get detail throughout without anything too dark or bright.
If you can get the exposure right, I do, indeed, think it is 'original' enough or at least worth looking at multiple times.

I agree that number two is the best. Great work.

Re: Soft, pink, and out of gamut.

    Thanks guys.

Frog - The whites in the image are not blown highlights, there is no lost color detail in the image, though it is at the very tippy top of the soft white, and I even pushed it up a bit more in processing. This is the histogram of the original, black point starts at ~ 9 and white point ~ 250.
