[Overbeyond]

Our Park, like lots of other public parks I know, suffers from lack of tender loving care. Dogs on the loose, their crap everywhere, boarded up toilets,
grafitti, rusted locks on tired out buildings and .... lost kids. Indeed I have been told that some people are afraid to go there now.
The Council invests little or no time or money but the tree population still manages to stand proud and tall.
It snowed today. It was a good time to visit the trees.

I think it could be better with more tonal range (everything looks a little grey to me) with blacker blacks and whiter whites.

I would never have guessed that the park was in such bad shape from the picture. Perhaps the snow covers things up. I like your shot here but I still find the composition of the tree trunk sort of odd w.r.t. the rest of the shot: the big empty spot in the left foreground seems out of place when compared to the tree trunk, which is coming right at the viewer on the side.

I would definitely say that the park is worth saving, based on the photo. Perhaps you can start a volunteer effort of locals who will perform maintinance etc? You'll have to get the dog owners to clean up after their dogs though. Put out a few signs to remind them that they should -- that way they can't claim ignorance.

Yep i would agree on that... would help out in giving a stronger sense still of isolation or desolation if you will....

And i will take your word about the dog poop

Tom, your composition is a good one here. Although the horizon in this vertical frame is centered, the trees filling the upper portion and the fallen tree lying twisted in the lower portion make it work well. I agree with the comments on the adjusting of whites and blacks here. The overall image has a flat tone overall. Increasing the contrast will really make this image pop nicely. Well seen and done
