    Snow in the forest

I went on a short hike a little over a mile away from my house and took some photos along the way. All of the birds were too fast and got away from me, so I only ended up with some good tree shots. Let me know what you think. I just seem to like trees quite a bit.

    Re: Snow in the forest

very cool shots, no pun intended.

The backlighting on the snow on #1 works.

I really dig the falling snow and lighting in #2. Undecided on the dark tree on the right in #2, I think it might be better without it.

Good exposure on both, good, simple tree shots.

    Re: Snow in the forest

Thanks for the comments. When I was shooting the first one I didnt even notice the snow on the branches, I just wanted to get the shot of the tree and the branches. (I look up at the trees a lot when hiking in the forest, looking at the trees, for birds, etc).

I like the three dark trees in the second one for some reason. (Two on the right, close to each other, and the diagonal skinny one.) It was a lucky shot to begin with. The sun was in the right place, I was where I was, and a big enough clump of snow fell from a high branch to be illuminated by the sun. I was fast enough to take two shots of it, although this one that I posted here is really the only good one. So there was really no option whether or not the trees would be in the shot. I just take what I get, and I'm quite happy how this one turned out overall. If I ever catch something like that again I'll see how it looks.
