Okay...I like the color better. The background stuff is much more connected to him by the colors in what he's wearing and whatnot.

I think both are great though...prefer the color.

I love B&W, but the color wins hands down on this one. It just pops.
Luckily your not like me and shoot with only B&W :blush2:

    cheers,

B&W needs a tad more contrast but for me the Colour is superb. I can now see where the halo comes from in the colour version. So boosting the contrast in B&W will not work properly for this photo.

    Love it.

Definitely color! He's an old man, and the vibrant colors provide a great contrast to that IMO.

    Colour here too.

I agree with Emily about the conectedness of the colour with the BG elements. In the B&W one, the BG is a bit distracting. Great subject.

I like the color version more since since the colors of the clothing and background put him in to context.

    Amazing expression!

    Thanks!

Although I like the color version as it is "pretty" to the eye, I think the B&W sends the message better/faster. I saw the color version before when you posted it and I didn't easily understand the title to it then because I was distracted by the colors.

For this man, his age and condition are more evident in B&W. I did a quick edit and the wrinkles and skin blemishes come through better. The only downside with the B&W is that the fact that he is a monk is not as evident. Glad to show you my edit of your image if interested.
