This is a nice scene, but IMHO lacks a point of focus. My eye wants something to follow thru the frame or to lock onto. I just seem to scan the image without finding that element that causes me to stop and look.

I'm of the same feeling as yourself to a degree, i'm doing a lot of work in this vein and i wanted an opinion about this one.

I'm not overly worried about my photos having a focal point, as generally none of them do, but with this one, something just didn't quite work for me, like yourelf, my eye keeps wandering. I've quite a collection of these and similar images, where some work, some don't. Sometimes it's hard to know which ones are the good ones and which are the bad (thats of course if they're not all bad!)

Anew, there are nice color contrasts here with the field of colored grass and the blue sky, white wisps of cloud. . .easy to see why you would want to take the shot. As OT stated, there is no point of focus to keep ones eye to come back to. Many things could bring this focal point, such as an old shack in the distance breaking over the horizon, maybe a fence leading off into the distance, or some other structure, or maybe some strong patterns in the field that run the eye towrds the distance or are interesting enough to hold attention and be a subject to a degree.
When I first started shooting and posting here, i did similiar shots with great colors and clouds and other elements I thought were pleasing, but lots had no real subjects. This forum and it's great members helped me to think about those things and improve as I went along. Keep at it, and I look forward to seeing more shots from you.

as i said, i just wasn't sure about this one, and couldn't put my finger on it......but both yourself and oldtimer have cleared it up for me.

I will be posting up a few more soon, looking forward to views.
