    Re: Slightly different

Interesting shot. The few 'critiques' I could offer would be that the 'head' piece at the very top, atleast on my monitor almost blends in with the background, and looses defintion, which makes it difficult to tell whats what. Also, by the base board in the background, there's some plastic square piece that's a tad distracting from the foreground.

    Good shot,

I like your composition, but I don't like to have white pottery against a mostly white background as your main subject looses definition. Also, the middle left part of the picture seems somewhat washed out. I am not too sure how to set up lighting for this kind of work. I have no experience with this kind of photography. Perhaps puting a translucid piece of clothe/paper in front of your light source would cut off glare (but then again it may weaken shadows....).

I should experiment with this kind of stuff myself.

I prefer this one to your others. The wallpaper I think gives it a nice touch, I would've liked it more if the wallpaper was stronger and maybe closer to the pot.

    Re: Slightly different

Thank you for the comments. If you peeped at my other thread on pottery still lifes, you will see that this is still only in the experimental stage. But that is the most critical time of the process. I modified the picture slightly, painted out the electrical socket. Hope this is slightly better. Seb, I actually tried diffuse lighting on this one, and it didn't work I thought. Thanks again.
