    Sleeping on a Rock

This was taken at the Central Park Zoo in May on the same day as my other post " "Ducklings on a Log". I cropped it slightly to get it just in the frame as I wanted. There isn't any more to this than there is really, the crop was very slight.
Taken with a 300mm zoom and Kodak supra 200 film. I think this came to be a pleasing , simple shot. What do you think? All comments appreciated.

I think this is a very cute shot, something one would see in a wildlife magazine or calendar. I can only say I think it's a bit too bright, but otherwise it's a wonderful shot. Great job on this!

    Composition - good.
Highlights are a little bright... I agree with the previous poster.

What happened to the foreground water? looks like a JPEG artifact.

But great timing on the shot... like the expression ;-) sort of a smile.

Darkrainfall,Yes, I agree about the highlights being somewhat bright. I replaced the original image with one that I have toned down a bit. Thanks for your comments.
TheBlueFish, I know what you mean about the foreground water. No, not artifacts from jpeg as the original looks exactly the same and it is a 59mb tiff file. I think it was just the way the dof blurred the water and the reflection and angle come together to make what appears to be artifacts. I never really noticed how it appeared until you pointed it out, but I don't think it takes away from the image, at least I hope not. Thanks for your time.

Very Nice. Where in the world does that color come from? I would never reach for a violet crayon to color a seal.
