    Re: sleeping giants

I like everything about it except that bright spot on the right.
Don't know what you could do about it without messing up this nice composition.
They do look like sleeping giants/monsters.

I like the image but I think there is detail in the dark areas that could be brought out a bit. Interesting the clouds are a bit blured because of you long exposure.
Too bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy running taxicabs or cutting hair.

Very nice capture. I worked for CAT for 10 years in Geneva Switzerland, they'd like what you did with this. I could see it in their next annual report... Well done.
    Shootme...

I like the idea and the overall result, the composition is strong but agree with some of the comments already made, the fact that there is a street lamp behind the main machine where the cab could be is a little confusing as it frames a part of what could be there, overall I like it though and think that you have done well..

I like the look of these at night sitting there idle. I would like to see the entire arm in the frame, perhaps standing back or using a wider angle.
the effect and look is appealing.

    Frog,
The bright spot on the right comes from cars going down the adjactent street and can surely be toned down.

    jbaldocchi,
I took about 20 shots from different angles and exposures, and the stark look came out much better overall than the more luminous shots that revealed more detail, but I apreciate what you're saying.

    shootme & Herriot,
Thanks. Agree about the streetlamp, but at least it was out at the time

    gahspidy,
The problem w/ going wider is that it introduces two rather large skyscrapers that are bright and unatractive (you can see just a hint at the inside of the main joint).

Thank all of you for your insightful comments and suggestions
