    Skyline: Kalamazoo, Mi

Two versions...this shot was taken from a downtown condo in the process of being offered for sale, and it afforded a wonderful view of the city's skyline. I had to crop out the bottom element which was the roof of the building in question. Anyway, this presented a great (IMO) pano shot, of which I offer two versions.
    1) the original cropped, selected/inverted to enhance the color of the sky, then inverted again to lighten and selectively contrast the buildings.
    2) the same cropped shot with the tint adjusted to give it kind of a 'linen postcard' feel.

I've been aware of a slight tilt, which I've been trying to correct. So, forgive that. There's also slight vignetting, which I've tried to eliminate, but haven't been able to find the right blend with cloning yet. So consider this a work in progress. The question is, how do you feel about these right now?

I like the contrast in colors in number 2. composition wise I think being led down the center of town you end up in some out of focus smaller buildings. I'm not sure if this works for me. I find enough interest in the building set to the right to be a focal point.

Thanks jk. I'm sorry it doesn't work for you. Maybe next time. This makes me think of the Seinfeld episode where George goes against his instincts. My first instinct was to go with this. My other choice was to go with the shot of the Radisson alone. Shoulda gone with the Radisson alone. :mad2:

I'm bumping this for those of you who've contributed to my other skyline photos of the city and may have missed this. It was posted Saturday, and some of you may not have been around. Thanks for taking the time to comment on the others--I just wasn't sure if you'd seen this or not.

John I like the second version. I love the contrast between the sky and the windows in the Radisson. It looks very futuristic. I expect to see the Jetson's landing in one of those teleports on the top. Nice job.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Thank you Larry. I more or less got that by accident. I was playing around with the tint control, and this came up.
