    Skylar - My nephew

My sister and my nephew came over today, I shot a couple pictures of him today and then we took and added different backgrounds to them on Paint Shop Pro X....... (The sky picture was taken a few months ago, but we added the sky background today) What do you think?

    Re: Skylar - My nephew

Ok, here's what I see (just keep in mind who's replying!):

On the first image, there's a strange "halo" around him, like you may have blended in a shadow or something. It almost gives appearance that he's less substantial around the edges. And maybe the lighting was too close?

On the second, the lighting makes everything pretty flat. It almost looks like he was cut and pasted into the shot since you don't see a real depth between him and the background.

The only real issue I have with the third is that he wasn't looking at the camera nor was he really looking at Santa. And I see that 2D feel again. Maybe trying the lighting more to the side?

Please, feel free to edit the images I submit for critique. I'm a visual kind of gal!
