    Skateboard Graffiti

Hi all ... as preparation for a camera club competition I have to produce photos to a variety of themes. One of the themes is "Urban Landscape". So I popped into London this morning and this is the result. I was quite deliberate about the high contrast as I wanted a somewhat "stark" feel. The skateboarder (who just happened to be there) was a very cooperative model. As always, comments are very welcome.

    Cheers

I like it...I think you nailed the contrast for this type of scene. It does feel urban and I like the feel of the closed off urban area.
However, I feel that you could of gotten the skater in a more dynamic position, even tho it is not, it feels somewhat posed...his position just feels a little off to me. The skater does add to the photo...without him it would loss a much needed element.

    Good work.

I like it a lot but I've learned around here some may raise eyebrows at the blown out shirt. Can you dodge the shirt and possibly restore some detail there?

    Good luck with the contest!

    Hi Mike,
I am with PT about the contrast, which is very good. The surfer gives a feeling that he does not pay much attention to the graffiti and moves on his way in a high speed. I guess that depicts the mentality of most urban people who do not spend much time to appreciate their cities. The idea fits the urban landscape very well.

I like this picture, i like how its kind of dark, the skater has a perfect motion blurr to it. I wonder what a similar picture with a kick flip or something

Good picture but I think it would've been neat to take one without the skateboarder there and take one with the skateboader there.

    Just my 2 cents.
