Just a simple shot, direct to the point.

    Tyson,

I agree with the others, this is a nice shot. Sometimes the simple compositions are the best.

    Re: Simple

Well composed and a good photo with many title possibilities!!

Looks to me as the depth of field falls off in the upper corners. That's the only 'problem' I see.

I like the slight angle of the lines to the frame and the placement of the FINISH keeps ones eye in and on the picture.

    Again, nice job!

Very well done, Tyson. This is very strong in it's simplicity and that has everything to do with your composition of this.
    Great.

See, what it needs is a rooster.

Just joking - it's good stuff. Part stock photo, part Piet Mondrian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Mondrian

Tyson, I like how the lane demarkation line leads you to the top of the frame. Well done.

I shot this picture at the Transplant Games at Kenyon College, I wanted this girl by the name of kennedy to sit on the other side of the line but I was too chicken to ask her and her mom. She was a heart transplant recipient at the age of 6 months, 6 years later she has developed coronary artery disease. She is now waiting heart transplant #2, in a sense she is "finished". I deeply regret not asking. The odds are against her, god I wish I would have asked.

I did post a thread on the games in viewfinder titled " life after transplant!"

    Re: Simple

That would have been neat to beable to get her in that picture... but obviously that is always going to be kind of scary thing to ask anyone.

I like the track picture, it is crazy how simple it is, yet it stands out very well. good work

    Re: Simple

I really like it... I think the geometry works. I think I would crop off the upper 2/5 of the shot though. It isn't needed, and you can see that it's fading out of focus.
