    The Silver Chair

Waiting for my flight home from Makassar,Indonesia.
The light changed very quickly as passengers moved around me,
-this is a bit too light, maybe, but would welcome your thoughts.

    Re: The Silver Chair

The detail from the chair is fantastic. It might just be from the resize but it seems like a bit of the detail has been lost from the little girls face? I love the composition and contrasting feel from steel to the little girl.

I too like the contrast between the hard surroundings and the girl.
Her face is a bit dark and soft.

    Re: The Silver Chair

    Thanks guys,
Although the airport had glass walls, think its was darker than it looked,if you know what I mean...
This one I liked at first, but its quite dark.

    Re: The Silver Chair

I like this one a lot too, for the play between hard and soft. I do believe you nailed the exposure though - the two lightest parts of the background are just teetering on the edge of blowing out, but you "kept it between the lines" good stuff!

FWIW I also like the dark one you posted later, except for the chopped off nose of the chair on the left, and I would have liked to have seen just a touch more reflection at the bottom, but I think the dark works very well in this second shot.

    Re: The Silver Chair

I really like the lighting and exposure of the first shot, except for the child's face, which is too dark. But as much as I like the girl, I am not sure her and the surroundings go together. Neat area there - could make a futuristic movie in this place.

    Re: The Silver Chair

In your last shot I like the reflection of the chairs on the floor. Did you happen to shoot a vertical composition ?

    Re: The Silver Chair

    natgaines,
-you are right in that I re-sized,sure I lost some detail-I was being careful about getting up too close,in case her Mum got nervous, but the light on her face was rather too low, could not give it any more w/out blowing out my background, like Jetrim mentioned.

This one has more room next to the chair arm,but I like it less, maybe a bit too soft ?

GB1,will be back there sometime in the next year, and try again-I love airports !

Jimmy B.I took no vertical,as there were very low and ugly beams, but usually would do so.

    Thanks,all.

    Re: The Silver Chair

Very nice shots, though there seems to be a lot of lines and angles, the simplicity of steel and glass smooths everything out for me. Nice eye Susaan, next time I'm in Indonesia I'll have to remember tis if I pas through the airport. Cheers S. PS: My son just mentioned. what's that? looks like something from Starwars...
    Shootme...
