The Shot Nasa Didn't Want Released

This (hopefully) is meant to be humorous obviously, but I am serious about photographing toys. I am trying to find or create environments that will compliment the subjects.
    So, any C/C is welcome.

Good concept, i think it really can work !!

You got good exposure on the toy astronauts and i like the hard shadows on the "ground"

Some suggestions to make it look more realistic ...
    1. the surface where they stand looks like a golf field, more sand and tiny rocks may make it look more similar to the moon
    2. Needs more DOF, the smaller aperture will also help make the background darker, mind that you'll also need more flash power to keep the same exposure on the toys
    3. Try to show a horizon with a dark "sky"

The closer to a lunar background the better with this I think, much more contrast, and possibly a touch of sepia. Nice shot though...

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I think that, if you had taken one moon-hop to the left, you would have all of the third alien in the image. Terry

Thanks for the comments. They are quite helpful. I shall consider them all when I do a reshoot. The place I took this shot is much better than I present here (as far as a lunar-like surface is concerned).

Definitely some more surface texture would be nice, and in my opinion darker tones would make it a bit more dramatic. Overall I think this is a fantastic and very funny shot!

It's a very interesting shot, and I have to agree with all the comments you got...that would make it a great shot.

    Good job!

Re: The Shot Nasa Didn't Want Released

This is another shot taken the same day. It shows more of the area and looks more lunar to me. Too bad this one didn't have the flag in it. I also don't like the shadows as much in this one.
