Nice subtle colors but there is nothing there to stop the eye from wondering. I'n thinking the crop isn't the right one for the subject and it needs birds, a boat or tree somewhere in the frame to catch the viewers attention.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Shoreline and Boats

I agree that this one is not working. Without the large sun and it's reflection in this shot, as well as the warm orange sky that went with it there is no longer that pleasing feeling of serenity and calm that made it as a subject in the other sunset shot. the ships here are not large enough to make the scene as a subject, and even if they were, without the lighting as in the other shot I still don't think it would work

This one needs something else in the midground. Nice colours

    Re: Shoreline and Boats

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really appreciate that when I have a pic on what I consider the fence and am not sure if it's positives are strong enough to outweigh its negatives.

Personally, I find the tonal range 'nice' but what I really consider interesting is the shape the water makes at the shoreline - its wavy shape seems creative to me. I tried bumping up the contrast btw, so to inject a little more excitement, but that wiped out the detail on the sand. So I guess this pic enters the rather full "almost" category.
