Nice shot. Foliage isn't quite ready yet is it?

When did you take this? I hiked Old Rag this weekend and have a few shots I need to process and post myself.

    Re: Shenandoah Overlook

I like the aerial perspective and the depth from the overlapping forms. The shot might benefit from more dramatic lighting at a different time of day.
I just got a dose of Appalachian scenery last week riding around eastern KY and TN and western VA and NC. I've ridden a few streches of the Blue Ridge Parkway and look forward to making a trip of the whole Skyline Drive/BRP - maybe next year.

I would like to see something in the foreground to add depth to the photo. Too bad the colors this year are likely to be pretty dull otherwise I would suggest you go back there this weekend for more.

    Re: Shenandoah Overlook

dmm96452, thank you. I shot this over this past weekend, on Saturday.

Chunk, thank you for your thoughts on this. I do plan to make another trip up there at some point and try a different time of day.

MB1, thanks for your thoughts and perspective on this.

I can definately see what you were going for and I really like your composition but the haze is an issue here (I think). You might want to play with levels in an attempt to give a little more punch to the frame as a whole. It sometimes worked for me in the past while dealing with similar situations.
