Man I wish her left foot was in the photo.

    Re: shadow on the wall

yeah i noticed the swear word indeed.
let me say: the word "shadow" in the title is a metaphor for the swear word AND the description of the real shadow that you can see on the wall. a double meaning.
also the one foot is not on the photo showing that she really is escaping from that scene or the situation that the word shadow indicates.
does it make sense, is it too conseptual or is it ********?
it's all up to the consumer / viewer...

o.k. i have to admit, i wish the foot was on the photo though

The number of times I have used that kind of logic for a photo which wasn't "quite" right

Seriously, I quite like this - it's the kind of photo I always find interesting. It would be better with the foot in though. Also, I would be inclined to straighten up the lines on the wall - the slight skewiness of them I find a tad distracting.

    Intriguing photo though.

    Re: shadow on the wall

This is a very fine shot. I have to say that I think having one foot out of the frame is part of the impact for me. What is so interesting to me is that the shadow looks like it is doing something entirely different from the subject casting it, due to the angle of light, position, etc. The shadow seems to be standing there on it's own as if to say " Go ahead, just try to walk away" and in my interpretation could represent something deep in her thoughts troubling her and wishes she could put out of her mind. The obscenities on the wall add to this tension and represent her frustrations and turmoil.
She looks determined to walk away and the one foot out of the frame is perfect. A very fine shot open to alot of different interpretations.

btw, I have just now read your entire response to the other posts and it appears my interpretation is similiar to what you had. Limbs must not ALWAYS be in the entire frame. Statements are made all the time by cutting off heads, hands, feet etc. sometimes it works and sometimes they do not. this is a case where I feel it works and works well.

    Re: shadow on the wall

The whole allure of this image to me is in the conflict between the shadow and the woman walking away. The shadow seem to be standing defiantly against the forces that are stalking the woman. At first I even thought that the shadow had been PS in to give that effect. Overall I feel the photo is effective and open to interpretation as most good images of this type should be. If there is anything I would change perhaps it is the title. I feel something like "The Run Away" , "Escape" or even "The Guardian" may be more appropriate.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Interesting photo. I too would like to have seen her entire foot. I like the happy face on the wall, but I would clone out the cuss word.
Boy the black and white photos are looking more and more attractive to me.

I struggled with the right words and your eloquence has said what I could not...at least not as early in the a.m. as I first saw it.

Great work. I like it. Everything seems perfectly placed.
