I'm never bored by cat shots..like the angle and expression, would have maybe tried for more contrast between the eyes and fur..?

I like the sight of the third paw coming in from the left. Is it his or a friends?. Very tender. It seems you have gone for total focus on the terrific eyes. Personnally I would like to have seen all his face and chest in focus too. Nonetheless it's a sweet portrait.

Ha .. funny shot, looks a deer in the headlights. A lot of negative space above his (or her) head but it seems to add character. The only thing that I think could be improved would be if the eyes were a tad bit sharper. Maybe a little deeper DOF also. Great shot though.

    Lovely !
Space above since he's looking up a little, vignetted to keep your eyes in the frame, the tail and hind leg so it's not just a head and shoulders (and front paws) portrait.
I actually like the narrow DoF, and think it may had lost some sharpness in the resizing?
The eyes look OK to me, as does the segment of whiskers in that same plane.
The nose in front of the focal plane and the ears behind really focuses on the eyes.

Hi Susaan, Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Tom, The third paw is his.

Hi G, Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Hi PAul, Thanks for the detailed analysis. Yes, the JPEG compression did reduce the sharpness of the original. I have forgotten to answer your question last time; the cat is indeed a Scottish Fold.

Dig it. But I also wish more of the cat were in focus. Great expression, as typical of a Scottish Fold.
